The Senate has arrested Nancy Gamo, the accountant of suspended Mayor Alice Guo, in Caloocan City on Saturday, July 13.

The Senate Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms (OSAA), assisted by the Philippine National Police (PNP), also served the arrest order to Guo, Dennis Cunanan, Guo’s father Jian Zhong Guo, mother Wenyi Lin, siblings Sheila Leal Guo, Wesley Leal Guo, and Seimen Guo.

However, the OSAA said the embattled mayor could not be found in her residence in QJJ Farm in Bamban, Tarlac as well as her family’s garments factories in Valenzuela and Bulacan.

The security team was denied entry to the factory in Valenzuela.

According to the OSAA, the Senate has dispatched four teams to serve the arrest order but authorities failed to locate Guo’s family members and Cunanan.

Gamo is now under custody of the Senate and will remain as the upper chamber’s inquiry continues.

On July 10’s Senate probe, Sen. Risa Hontiveros cited Guo and seven others in contempt following their continued absence in the Senate Committee on Women’s investigation into the illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hubs raided in Bamban and Porac, Pampanga.

The arrest order was signed by Senate President Francis Escudero and Committee Chair Hontiveros on July 11, but was only made public on Saturday. (with report from Joshua Garcia/PTV News)
