The Lower House approved on the third and final reading House Bill 8261 that aims to lower the minimum height requirement of the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), and Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) applicants.
Under the bill, the former height requirement of 1.62 meters for males and 1.57 meters for females have now been lowered to 1.57 meters and 1.52 meters respectively. The bill intends to provide “equal opportunity” for all applicants. – Report from Daniel Manalastas
