IPHO-Maguindanao targets to serve 10K in Kalusugan Festival

COTABATO CITY — The provincial health office of Maguindanao launched on Monday in Shariff Aguak town its March 5-9 “Kalusugan Festival” aimed at serving the health needs of the province’s 36 municipalities.

On Monday, thousands of poor residents from different municipalities started flocking at the Maguindanao Provincial Hospital to avail of the free medical services being offered to the people.

“Let us all join hands in this celebration of life,” Dr. Tahir Sulaik, chief of the Integrated Provincial Health Office – Maguindanao, said during his opening speech.

The medical services offered included various surgery, dental, prenatal and birthing, primary care, and free medicine and consultation, among others.

Aside from the region’s Department of Health, the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund also helped and provided support to the program.
