‘Kamaong Bato Pilipinas ‘ Cavite chapter supports federalism movement

BACOOR CITY, Cavite – “Kamaong Bato Pilipinas” Cavite chapter has expressed its support to the proposed federal form of government of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

Gemma Vinzon, the “Kamaong Bato Pilipinas”-Cavite chapter provincial director and this city’s chapter president, said the organization is in favor of Duterte’s call for a shift to federalism, drawing support from Cavite’s cities and towns.

During the organization’s courtesy call before City Mayor Lani Mercado Revilla at the City Hall, Bacoor Government Center here on Monday, Vinzon said the organization has more than 5,000 members with their office located at Meadowood Subdivision in Molino, Cavite.

Revilla welcomed the Cavite chapter members who have thrown their support for the Chief Executive’s relentless war on illegal drugs and criminality.

Vinzon said their group is currently undertaking forums and seminars on federalism in the barangays as well as various projects for scholarship, livelihood, income-generation and financing for small and micro businesses and burial assistance for their members.

Founded in 2016, the “Kamaong Bato Pilipinas” movement is engaged in intensifying awareness and information on the dynamics of federalism at the grassroots as an advocacy to broaden knowledge on the federal system of government among the community and village folks.

Vinzon said that their group fully endorses Duterte’s vision to the shift to the federal form where all member federal states could enjoy full local autonomy from the current Presidential form of government

“Kamaong Bato,” or literally described as the stone clenched fist, has adopted this symbol in reference to the President’s political will for a sincere, determined and intensified campaign to rid the country of illegal drugs, criminality and corruption.
