‘Karding’ further intensifies; More areas under Signal No. 3

Typhoon ‘Karding’ has further intensified while moving West Southwestard according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Sunday, Sept. 25.

According to its 5:00 a.m weather forecast, Typhoon “Karding” is moving 285 km East of Infanta, Quezon.

On the forecast track, “Karding” will likely make landfall in the vicinity of the northern portion of Quezon or the southern portion of Aurora on Sunday night.

Provinces of Isabela, Polillo Islands, Catanduanes, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and Isabela. Light to moderate with at times heavy rains over mainland Cagayan, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora, Quezon, Marinduque, Romblon, and the rest of Bicol Region will experience moderate to heavy rains early morning through early afternoon on Sunday, Sept. 25.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila, Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Aurora, Rizal, and the northern portion of Quezon including Polillo Islands. Moderate to heavy with at times intense rains over Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Benguet, Ifugao, Mountain Province, Pangasinan, Cavite, Laguna, the central portion of Quezon, and Camarines Norte. Light to moderate with at times heavy rains over Mindoro Provinces, Marinduque, and the rest of Calabarzon and Bicol Region will experience heavy to intense with torrential rains on Sunday early afternoon through Monday early morning.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 3 was raised in:

  • The central and southern portions of Aurora (Dingalan, San Luis, Baler, Maria Aurora, Dipaculao)
  • Extreme northern portion of Quezon (General Nakar, Infanta, Real) including Polillo Islands
  • Eastern portion of Nueva Ecija (City of Gapan, Bongabon, Gabaldon, Laur, General Tinio, Palayan City, Santa Rosa, Peñaranda, Cabanatuan City, San Leonardo)
  • Eastern portion of Bulacan (Norzagaray, Doña Remedios Trinidad, Angat, San Rafael, San Ildefonso, San Miguel)
  • Northern portion of Rizal (Rodriguez, Tanay) 
  • Northern portion of Camarines Norte (Vinzons, Paracale, Jose Panganiban, Capalonga)
