La Union PDRRMO chief found dead from alleged suicide

SAN FERNANDO, La Union — The chief of the La Union Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) was found dead inside his office here on Sunday.

Supt. John Guiagui, San Fernando City police chief, identified the victim as lawyer Bobby Valdriz.

The police responded to the alleged suicide incident at 7:35 a.m. at Antonino building, in Barangay 2.

Guiagui said Valdriz reported to his office at 6 a.m. and did not respond to his colleagues’ greetings since then.

He said a gunshot rang out an hour later which was even heard even by mass-goers in the nearby Catholic church.
