LCC, Globe present tech tools to help LGUs transact faster

The Liveable Cities Philippines and the League of Cities of the Philippines, in partnership with Globe Telecom, are pleased to present another episode of the Liveable Cities Labs, a series of webinar sessions to gear up cities with knowledge and insights for designing better solutions for their communities.

The fifth Liveable Cities Lab will focus on GovTech: Technology for Government Transactions with discussions revolving on solutions for improving government service systems, purchasing and payment arrangements, sharing of information, and doing business. As the country moves towards the digital age, technology and innovation in governance are vital in local governments. GovTech is a powerful and important tool for cities to improve their overall governance. It allows local chief executives and managers to improve their cities’ capacity to provide services, achieve policy goals, and increase efficiency and transparency, which leads to greater trust, participation, and engagement of citizens.

For the session, the Liveable Cities lab has assembled a team of technical experts from the private sector and the government to share their solutions and initiatives on how cities can harness GovTech in their operations. The panel includes Racquel Holazo, AVP and Head for Public Sector and Education, Enterprise Group of Mynt; Debbie Obias, Head, Business Development, Community WiFi and Device Innovations for Globe Consumer Broadband; Janis Racpan, Head, Globe Business Development and Marketing for Digital Solutions; Atty. Ira Pozon, Chief of Staff, Anti-Red Tape Authority; Atty. Melanie S. Malaya, President, National Association of BPLO chiefs of the Philippines; and Ginger Arboleda, co-founder of Taxumo.

The lab on Govtech: Technology for Government Transactions, hosted and moderated by Ida Tiongson, MAP Vice Chair of Governance and Liveable Cities Steering Committee, will be on 16 September 2020 (Wednesday), 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Sign up now at http://bit.ly/LCCLAB5GOVTECH.
