The low pressure area (LPA) monitored east of northeastern Mindanao has entered the Philippine area of responsibility on Monday afternoon, the state weather bureau said.

As of 3:00 p.m., the LPA was seen 925 kilometers east of northeastern Mindanao.

“Itong LPA sa mga oras na ito ay wala pang epekto sa ating panahon,” Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio said.

PAGASA said Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, and Western Visayas may experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to southwest monsoon (habagat).

Habagat and localized thunderstorms will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the rest of the country.

Meanwhile, a gale warning is in effect over the seaboards of Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Romblon, Marinduque, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, western coast of Batangas, Occidental Mindoro, Palawan, and the southern coast of Quezon.
