LTFRB: Beep cards free starting Oct. 9


The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has issued MC No. 2020-057 implementing the free distribution of Beep cards starting Friday, October 9.

The said memorandum circular has tasked public utility vehicles (PUV) operators and automatic fare collection systems to remove the card’s fee included in the fare of the commuters. The agency has also published the MC in newspapers in accordance with President Rodrigo R. Duterte’s directive to effectively spread the information regarding cashless payments on print media for better dissemination. – Report from Karen Villanda
