The Land Transportation Office (LTO) said the two motorcycle riders driving without shirt in two separate incidents will be fined and will not be issued licenses for one year.

Investigation of the LTO Intelligence and Investigation Division (IID) found out that the two riders do not have licenses to drive.

LTO IID Officer-in-Charge Renan Melitante said  they will prepare the resolution on the incident.

Melitante said under Joint Administrative Order No. 2014-01, a person caught driving without a license will be fined P3,000 and disqualified from getting a license.

“On the part of IID, ita-tag po naming ang alarm in-person sa mga pangalan po nila. Prior to the issuance of a driver’s license, student driver’s license particularly, kailangan po dumaan muna siya sa clearance and evaluation ng IID,” he said.

The LTO said that because the riders did not have a license, all the violations committed by the riders will be tagged on the vehicles used.

These include violations of Section XI (e) of LTO Administrative Order No. AHS-2008-015 (Failure to Wear Flip-Flops, Sandals, or Slippers or Being Barefooted While Operating Motorcycles or Scooters) and Section 27a of R. A. 4136 (Improper Person to Operate a Motor Vehicle) will be thrown at their vehicle.

LTO Chief Jay Art Tugade emphasized the importance of following traffic laws and rules, as well as maintaining street safety.

–ag
