ANTIPOLO CITY — Magnolia quickly went on a roll and repulsed Alaska, 102-86, to clinch its first PBA Governors’ Cup title in Game 6 of the finals at the Ynares Center here on Wednesday night.

The Hotshots started the game with a 12-0 run to spark the wire-to-wire win.

The Aces tried to inch closer by going on a 7-0 run to come to within seven, 35-42, midway in the second period.

But that turned to be their only significant moment in the game as the Hotshots recovered and even stretched the lead to 20, 85-65, early in the fourth.

Romeo Travis made 32 points, 17 rebounds, six assists, three steals, and one block for Magnolia, which won a PBA title for the first time since completing in the grand slam in 2014 as San Mig Coffee.

Mark Barroca, adjudged the Most Valuable Player of the series, put up 13 points, five rebounds, four assists, and one steal.

Ian Sangalang and Paul Lee added 16 points each.

Mike Harris came up with 26 points, 24 rebounds, four assists, two steals, and one block, while Chris Banchero added 20 markers, three rebounds, and four assists for Alaska.
