Majority of Filipinos value and trust the US over China

Majority of Filipinos (78%) think that ties with the United States of America is more vital than that with China, as found in a survey by the Social Weather Stations (SWS). Further, the trust rating on the western country was tagged at +72 (“excellent”), a country mile away from China’s -33 (“bad”). Moreover, 52% of Filipinos believe that the Philippines can simultaneously shape amity with the two countries. 41%, however, were pessimistic on it, while 7% were undecided. The study was administered to 1,800 respondents from 27 to 30 September 2019.
