Malacañang: No ‘special treatment’ for Anti-Terrorism Bill

According to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, the Anti-Terrorism Bill is going through the right process before being signed or vetoed by the President.

Secretary Harry Roque disclosed that the bill is currently being studied. However, since it is certified as urgent, there is the possibility of the President immediately signing the Anti-Terrorism Bill.

(The President has certified it as urgent. If the provision of the proposed law has not changed as compared to the bill he certified as urgent, there is no reason for the President to veto it. The Office of the Executive Secretary and the DOJ are reviewing the provisions- despite Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo’s opinion- if there are violations against the Constitution. And that is standard.)” – Report from Mela Lesmoras
