Malacañang: PRRD reading names of alleged corrupt officials is not diversionary tactic

Malacañang asserted that the naming of alleged corrupt Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) personnel and solons by President Rodrigo R. Duterte is not a diversionary tactic meant to veer away attention from the issue of the Sinopharm vaccination of the Presidential Security Group (PSG).

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque stated that it is the right of the President to mention the names of the alleged corrupt officials as part of the freedom of information despite his disclaimer that the allegations are not yet proven. The list is based on the investigation of the Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC).

Secretary Roque also clarified that the government did not spend money for the vaccination of some soldiers and members of the PSG. He added that there is no violation in the vaccination of the PSG and that the list of priority individuals for the vaccine still remains once the vaccine is available in the country. – Report from Ryan Lesigues
