Malacañang has assured the public of the immediate distribution of financial aid to affected individuals in areas under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).
According to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque yesterday, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has ordered the agencies and local government units (LGUs) concerned to hasten the aid distribution.
The government initially announced that the LGUs can provide financial aid worth ₱1,000 per individual, not exceeding ₱4,000 per family. The LGUs also have the discretion to provide the assistance in kind or in cash.
The distribution of the financial aid is set to start Tuesday (April 6).
