Manila LGU launches free swab tests for PUV drivers and city workers

Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso has put into effect the executive order providing free RT-PCR swab tests for public transport drivers and other workers in the city.

The Manila government took the initiative after the opening of its second molecular laboratory at the Sta. Ana hospital. The new laboratory can process 1,000 swab tests per day. The free RT-PCR swab tests are for drivers of jeepneys, e-tricycles, pedicabs, and buses as well as market vendors, and mall, hotel, restaurant, and supermarket employees.

According to Mayor Isko, the local government unit (LGU) will directly go to the workers to conduct the swab tests. However, employees can also go to the testing site of the city for the free test. The Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) testing will be done regularly to all workers in Manila.
