The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) on Wednesday, March 15, announced that wearing of face masks in all Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) terminals is now optional.

In an advisory, MIAA said that this is in accordance with Executive Order No. 7 issued in 2022, which allows the voluntary use of face masks in indoor and outdoor settings.

However, MIAA reminded the passengers that face masks are “still required to be worn inside the aircraft and airside passenger vehicles.”

The Department of Tourism has earlier advised that showing proof of COVID-19 vaccination and wearing of face masks in tourism enterprises will no longer be required in order to “aid the economic hardships of tourism stakeholders.” -ag
