MMDA suspends number coding scheme on Holy Week

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has suspended the number coding scheme from April 6 to April 10 in observance of the Holy Week.

April 6 and 7 are Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, respectively, while April 10 has been declared as Day of Valor, a regular holiday.

The MMDA reminded the public to plan their trip and drive cautiously.

In an earlier post, MMDA said they will set up a multi-agency command center in partnership with other concerned government agencies to ensure the passengers’ safety as well as to monitor the major transport hubs during the Lenten season.

The agencies that will work with local government units are the Department of Transportation, Department of Public Works and Highways, Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, Inter-Agency Council for Traffic, Land Transportation Office, and the Philippine National Police.

“Through this inter-agency action center, we can monitor real-time updates on bus terminals across Metro Manila to ensure safer travel of the commuting public and orderly traffic flow in our roads as we observe the Holy Week,” MMDA Acting Chairperson Atty. Don Artes said.
