Motorcycle-riding gunmen kill Isabela City cop

ZAMBOANGA CITY–A policeman handling drug-related cases was shot and killed by gunmen riding in tandem in Isabela City, Basilan province, an official disclosed Tuesday.

Supt. Gilzen Niño Manese, Isabela City police chief, said PO3 Jayton Lagdameo was gunned down around 11:45 a.m. Tuesday in Purok 4, Barangay Menzi, Isabela.

Manese said Lagdameo, who was assigned as an investigator of the Isabela City police station, was driving his motorcycle on the way home to Sitio Concepcion, Barangay Lumbang, Isabela City, when shot by one of two men riding tandem on another motorcycle.

The police chief said the victim crashed into the pavement after he was hit in the head and died instantaneously.
