NFNL alerts Disaster Response and Rescue Teams (DRRTs) for Typhoon Ambo

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – Naval Forces Northern Luzon (NFNL) has alerted its DRRTs since last week on the expected onslaught of Typhoon Ambo within its Area of Responsibility covering Regions l, ll, and Ill amid the government
efforts in mitigating the effects of COVID-19 pandemic.

ln coordination with Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (DRRMC) in La Union, the council was convened as early as Monday and reviewed disaster
mitigation plans to ensure proactive measures as the typhoon approaches Central and Northern Luzon. Disaster Response Teams of involved LGUs are put on standby status as augmentation to respond for eventualities in the area.

COMMODORE Caesar Bemard N Valencia AFP, Commander NFNL directed the conduct of personnel and equipment readiness inspection to its DRRTs. He stretched that all disaster response equipment should be all in good operating condition. Among its essential land-based equipment are M35 and KM450 trucks, 3
rubber boats with outboard motors, generators, cutting tools, and life-saving
equipment.
