Northeasterly surface wind affects Northern Luzon Friday

MANILA — The northeasterly surface wind flow is affecting Northern Luzon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Friday.
In its 4 a.m. bulletin, the weather bureau said Ilocos Region, Cordillera and Cagayan Valley Region will experience cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains caused by the northeasterly surface wind flow.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA said typhoon “Yutu” was 2,120 kilometers east of Central Luzon outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
The typhoon has maintained its strength east of Baler, Quezon and may enter PAR on Saturday morning, which by then, will be given the local name “Rosita” if it makes a landfall.
“Yutu” has maximum sustained winds of 180 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center with gustiness up to 220 kph and moving west at 20 kph.
Meanwhile, temperature in Metro Manila ranges from 24-32 degrees Celsius; Tuguegarao City 21-32 degrees Celsius; Baguio City 15-24 degrees Celsius; Angeles City 23-33 degrees Celsius; Lipa City 24-33 degrees Celsius; Metro Cebu 25-32; and Metro Davao 25-34. ( Lily Ramos/PNA)
