Over 326-K Moderna doses arrive in the PH

A total of 326,400 doses of the Moderna vaccine arrived yesterday (Aug.8) at Terminal 3 Bay 114 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) just before 4:00 p.m. via flight SQ912.

Some 224,000 doses have been reserved for the government while 102,000 will be given to the International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI).

According to vaccine czar Sec. Carlito Galvez Jr., the doses of Moderna will be deployed to the National Capital Region (NCR) and other surge areas.

Galvez also announced that 12,921,000 Filipinos have received their first dose, while 11,200,000 are now fully vaccinated.

The Philippines has administered more than 24 million doses.

Galvez then urged the public to get their second dose as soon as possible.

“Once naka two doses na tayo, it prevented the cases of severe and critical and even death. So, malaki ang impact ng vaccination natin. It can really save lives,” he said.
