MANILA — Typhoon Paeng is moving slowly to the north, and was last eyed at 755 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Wednesday.
“Paeng” has maximum sustained winds of 160 kilometers per hour near the center, and gustiness of up to 195 km/h.
Meanwhile, Central Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, northern Mindanao, Tawi-tawi, Basilan, and Sulu will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorm due to the southwest monsoon until Thursday afternoon.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.
Strong to gale force winds will blow over the northern and eastern sections of Luzon. Coastal waters along these areas will be rough to very rough.
Elsewhere, winds will be moderate to strong with moderate to rough seas, PAGASA said. (PNA)
