PAGASA sees chances of rains Saturday

MANILA — Although announcing the onset of summer, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecast the easterlies to affect the country until Saturday afternoon, raising the possibility of cloudy skies with some rains.

In its weather bulletin on Friday, which is effective for 24 hours, PAGASA said the easterlies would prevail over the country. The easterlies are warm winds coming from the Pacific that brings cloud formation.

The state-run weather bureau said Metro Manila and the other parts of the country are expected to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers caused by local thunderstorms.

Slight to moderate coastal waters will also prevail over northern Luzon pushed by light to moderate winds.

Other areas will have slight to moderate coastal waters due to light to moderate winds. (PNA)
