Palace announces guidelines on ECQ, GCQ

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque on Thursday has given updates on the omnibus guidelines on enhanced community quarantine and general community quarantine.

Based on IATF-EID Resolution No. 30, areas such as Metro Manila, Region 3 except Aurora, Region 4A, Pangasinan, Benguet, Iloilo, Cebu, Bacolod City, and Davao City are covered by the extended ECQ.

All individuals below 21 years-old, senior citizens, and those with health risks are not allowed to go outside unless necessary.

Delivery services for food and medicines and accredited construction works are permitted to operate. Media outfits are also allowed to operate with a maximum operational capacity of 50 percent.

Areas not covered by ECQ will be placed under GCQ where minimum public health standards are required, movements are limited for essential purposes, and leisure activities are prohibited.

Those with age restrictions and health risks are also advised to stay home under the GCQ unless necessary and are required to work.

Meanwhile, essential work and religious gatherings are allowed under the GCQ as long as health protocols are imposed including the use of face masks, the observance of social distancing and other precautionary measures.

Some public transportation under the general quarantine are authorized but under strict regulations. The DOTr is set to release its guidelines on the matter. – Report from Mela Lesmoras
