The Palace assured on Tuesday (Aug. 10) that the government is “finding ways and means” for other countries to acknowledge the Philippine vaccination cards, especially because it is one of the requirements needed for entry into certain countries.
In a tweet, Foreign Sec. Teodoro Locsin Jr. said the PH vax cards are not accepted in Hong Kong due to their not being “connected to a single source.”
Our vaccination cards are not accepted in Hong Kong because they are not connected to a single source. Poor OFWs going to their jobs in Hong Kong even if jabbed.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque expressed disappointment over the incident. He said the government is doing its best for the acceptance of the country’s vaccination cards by other nations.
He also said the Philippines is not the only country facing such a matter.
“Nakakalungkot na balita po ‘yan, pero ang buong daigdig po, we are finding means and ways now para magkaroon tayo ng basehan para kilalanin ang ating vaccination cards,” he said.
“Hindi lang po ‘yan problema ng Pilipinas, problema po yan ng buong daigdig. Siguro makakatulong na mayroon po tayong yellow book na ini-issue ng Bureau of Quarantine,” he added.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said in a public briefing on July 9 that the Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) is looking into the unification of vaccination cards for fully vaccinated individuals so that their usage will be harmonized and synchronized.
