“Nakataya ang kredibilidad ng institusyon at ang tiwala ng taumbayan sa bawat galaw at desisyon ninyo, kaya’t nararapat lamang na alagaan ninyo ang tiwalang ipinagkaloob sa inyo.”
Cognizant of their role as frontliners of peace and order across the country, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led the oath-taking of 50 star-ranked officers Wednesday.
The uniformed personnel—composed of six Police Major Generals and 44 Police Brigadier Generals—rise up the ranks as they continue to uphold the image of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and serve the public through their compatriots in public service.
In his remarks at the event, President Marcos Jr. honored the hard work, sacrifices, and determination of these police personnel: “As you climb up a rank, you must realize this is not merely a recognition of your past performance, but rather, a clearer and higher expectation of how you must lead from this point forward.”
The President moreover, reminded the officers of the omnipresent challenges that they would face vis-à-vis heightened responsibilities in the face of social divides, political noise, digital threats, and escalating tensions that transcend borders and platforms.
Marcos Jr. meanwhile, reaffirmed his support for the PNP, citing his earlier issuance of Executive Order No. 107, which updates the base pay schedule for military and uniformed personnel (MUP).
This will be implemented in three tranches starting in January 2026, with subsequent adjustments in 2027 and 2028.
The Chief Executive concluded his speech by reminding PNP officials of their duty to serve the citizenry, especially as the holiday season goes into full swing, necessitating heightened security measures and utmost vigilance.
“Tiyakin ninyo ang kaligtasan ng bawat mamamayan upang tunay nating maramdaman ang saya ng Kapaskuhan nang may kapanatagan at pagkakaisa, at may tunay na ligaya.”
