This, as Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro responded to media queries about an alleged impeachment complaint being formulated against President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

At the Palace press briefing on Monday, Castro lamented the claims of Caloocan 2nd District Rep. Edgar Erice regarding this development, which would coincide with the resumption of the Congress’ session on January 26.

She downplayed these as ‘political maneuverings’ from the opposition, with this unsubstantiated information only seeking to drive a wedge between the citizenry and people in government.

The Palace mouthpiece went on to discuss the various controversies hounding Vice President Sara Duterte, which include allegations of corruption during her tenure as the Department of Education Secretary and her publicized tirades against President Marcos Jr.

Castro concluded her remarks by noting that while the Chief Executive remains unfazed by political noise and theatrics, he is always prepared for any contingency—citing his obedience to the Constitution and the Congress’ continuing support of his leadership.
