PDEA nabs 2 drug peddlers, seizes P360K shabu in Albay

LEGAZPI CITY — Anti-narcotics operatives seized on Wednesday night PHP360,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) from two suspected illegal drug personalities in separate operations in Barangay Sabang, this city, City Mayor Noel Rosal said on Thursday.

He identified the two as Marvin Sevillano alias Gaus of Purok 2 and Antonio Alejo alias Anton of Purok 3, both in Barangay Sabang, a coastal village of this city.

Armed with a search warrant, operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the city police conducted separate raids and collared the two suspects, who are considered as high value targets. The lawmen seized from them a total of 60 grams of suspected shabu with a street value of PHP360,000.

Rosal, quoting a PDEA report, said the raid at Sevillano’s house yielded 40 grams of shabu worth PHP240,000, while at Alejo’s residence, the raiding team seized 20 grams of crystal meth worth P120,000.

The suspects are now behind bars at the PDEA detention facility at police’s Camp Gen. Simeon Ola, this city.

According to Mayor Rosal, Barangay Sabang, where the two drug personalities operate, is considered as a drug “hotbed”. (Mar Serrano/PNA)
