PFF W-League games postponed, too

MANILA – The anticipated inclement weather in Cavite due to Typhoon Ompong forced the PFF Women’s League to postpone its entire weekend fixtures at the PFF National Training Center in Carmona town.

In the supposed schedule, La Salle and University of the Philippines will collide in the first of the Saturday games, to be followed by the showdown between Green Archers United and Tuloy Sa Don Bosco.

The Sunday twinbill would have Ateneo de Manila and Hiraya facing off and Far Eastern University battling La Salle-Zobel.

“The new schedule will be announced soon,” the league said in a statement.

The venue will also host the Copa Paulino Alcantara showdown between JPV Marikina and Global Cebu later Saturday, but the Philippines Football League has yet to make a decision on whether the match would push through.

The league announced that the other scheduled match between Stallion Laguna and Ceres Negros will be played at an earlier time at 12 p.m.

Originally scheduled at the Rizal Memorial Stadium here, the game will be held at the Biñan Football Stadium in Biñan, making the said tiff a literal home game for Laguna, which is the designated home side for the game.

As of 2 p.m., the provinces of Laguna and Cavite were placed under typhoon signal No. 1. (Ivan Stewart Saldajeno/PNA)
