The Philippine General Hospital (PGH) warned the public against a fake news page on Facebook using the name of the state-run hospital.

“Ang Philippine General Hospital News ay HINDI authorized o legitimate Facebook page na galing sa [University of the Philippines]-PGH,” it wrote on its official Facebook page.

In a post, the illegitimate page used a quote card quoting American author and physician Neal Barnard who reportedly found the “most effective treatment” for diabetes.

In another post, the same page was seen endorsing a medical product for diabetes.

However, PGH clarified that the hospital is not endorsing any product, “Hindi po nag-eendorse ng kahit anuman produkto ang PGH. Huwag pong maniwala rito.” – cf
