The Philippines has administered a total of 12 million COVID-19 vaccine doses as of July 5.
In a public briefing, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque announced that based on the Department of Health’s (DOH) data, the Philippines has reached the 12 million mark in the national vaccination program.
National Task Force (NTF) against COVID-19 Chief Implementer Carlito Galvez Jr. also reported the news to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte in his Talk to the People on Tuesday (July 6).
“After three days we have a ceremonial vaccination with Secretary Roque, we have already breached the 11 million mark. As of this date, we already breached the 12 million mark. This is the first week that we have 2 million that we have reported for this week,” he said.
Sec. Galvez also reported that the national vaccination program has inoculated 9,047,357 individuals for the first dose, and 2,920,488 for the second doses. He added that the activated vaccination sites in the country are at 4,324.
“Mayroon na po tayong nakatala na 17,455,470 doses na nandoon po sa ating imbentaryo, na-receive mula noong Pebrero. At 11,967,805 ang naiturok na po natin [simula] July 1; at mayroon po tayo na 9,047,357 na katao at may 2,920,488 na katao na po na nakatanggap ng second dose. We have already activated 4,324 vaccination sites.”
The government aims to vaccinate 50 to 70 million Filipinos in 2021 by reaching the target of 500,000 doses per day.
