PH daily COVID-19 count still under 200, total now at 13,777

The Department of Health (DOH) on Saturday disclosed the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country has reached 13,777 with 9,737 active cases after 180 cases were recorded.

The number of recoveries has increased to 3,177 after 85 more patients have recuperated, while the death toll has soared to 863 following the passing of six patients.

The DOH said 63 percent or 114 out of the 180 new cases are from the National Capital Region (NCR).

Based on current DOH data, the total bed capacity dedicated for COVID-19 cases has reached 13,432; 2,771 of which are ward beds, 9,355 isolation beds, and 1,306 ICU beds. There are also 2,066 ventilators as of May 22 and 16.50 percent of them are in use.

Meanwhile, the total beds in LIGTAS COVID facilities has reached 43,948 while there are 1,348 in MEGA LIGTAS COVID facilities. The health department also shared that there are now 33 RT-PCR licensed laboratories.
