Sec. Lorenzana: Metro Manila may be placed under GCQ

National Task Force Against COVID-19 Chairperson and Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana disclosed Metro Manila may be placed under general community quarantine (GCQ) next month.

Lorenzana said quarantine protocols will not be lifted so people will get used to the new normal despite the decline in the number of COVID-19 cases.

He added that they “would like to impose to our people self-discipline” and the strict quarantine protocols will remain in areas with a high number of COVID-19 cases.

National Action Plan Chief Implementer Carlito Galvez Jr. earlier mentioned the possible implementation of the zoning concept where only zones and clusters will be covered by strict quarantine measures.
