PH Navy assures BRP Antonio Luna to guard PH territory

The Philippine Navy (PN) assured that the Barko ng Republika ng Pilipinas (BRP) Antonio Luna will be useful especially in guarding the Philippine territory.

In a public briefing, PN Chief of Naval Staff Rear Admiral Loumer Bernabe stated that the new ship of the Philippines is being prepared for deployment in the West Philippine Sea and the Philippine Rise.

The country’s 2nd guided missile vessel will guard the areas to ensure the safety of Filipino fisherfolks as well as ensure that no illegal foreigners will enter Philippine territory.

Bernabe added that the ship will also help in strengthening the force of the PN. It is expected to aid in anti-air warfare, anti-submarine warfare, and electronic warfare. It can also be used in the national development, search and rescue operations, relief operations in times of calamities, and other security engagements.

The PN trusts that its water assets will further improve in the following years.
