Philippines ranks 2nd in vaccination deployment

According to international think tank Our World in Data this month, the Philippines ranks second among 10 Southeast Asian nations in the most number of doses of COVID-19 vaccines administered.

The Philippines falls second, administering 6.31 million doses, after Indonesia which has administered 31.2 million doses.

Following the Philippines is Thailand (5.67 million), Cambodia (5.13 million), Singapore (4.39 million), Malaysia (4.1 million), Myanmar (2.99 million), Vietnam (1.41 million), Laos (1.08 million), and Brunei (61K).

Meanwhile, data also shows that the Philippines is eighth among 10 Southeast Asian countries in terms of vaccinating its whole population.

Data provides that as of June 8, the Philippines has only vaccinated about 4.23% of its total population.

Leading the ranks is Singapore with 42.8% of its population vaccinated.

It is followed by Cambodia (16.72%), Brunei (11.37%), Laos (9.74%), Malaysia (8.76%), Indonesia (7.19%), Thailand (5.94%), Philippines, Myanmar (3.26%), and Vietnam (1.40%). PTV News/PG-rir
