PNP-HPG strengthens patrolling to reduce the number of people going out

The Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) has strengthened its patrolling to ensure that only authorized persons outside of residence (APORs) are outside amid the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ).

The PNP-HPG has implemented “OPLAN Habol” Thursday at EDSA White Plains where several motorists were issued tickets due to violations of MECQ guidelines.

Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is preparing for the “New Normal” in terms of traffic and commute. Part of its plan is to implement a single bus route in EDSA where only 600 buses will be allowed to pass through. The possibility of providing a bike lane in major roads is also being assessed.
