PNR to conduct dry run on Friday

The Philippine National Railway (PNR) will conduct a dry run on Friday as preparation for the possible implementation of the general community quarantine in Metro Manila.

The station agents and other PNR staff will serve as passengers from the Tutuban to Alabang stations in order to see the actual scenario in case of an influx of commuters.

The PNR will implement a 143-passenger capacity from 700 in a 4 car formation. The seats have been marked inside the train with a distance of one meter. Train marshals and conductors will monitor and ensure the implementation of social distancing. The entrance and exit of the PNR will also have a mass thermal scanner that is expected to arrive this week.

According to PNR Acting Assistant General Manager Atty. Celeste D. Lauta, the dry run will be a big help in knowing the changes needed to be done in their protocol. – Report from Karen Villanda
