POC, confident that the Olympics will push through

There is no doubt the 2020 Tokyo Olympics will push through.

This is the firm belief of Philippine Olympic Committee President Abraham Bambol Tolentino which he expressed in an interview with PTV Sports.

In a separate interview, Philippine Sports Commission Commissioner Ramon Fernandez earlier said that only God knows if it’s a go or not. But the Cavite representative insisted that, “tama naman siya roon. Kaya matutuloy talaga ‘yong Olympics.”

Based on the figures of the World Health Organization, more than 600 thousand people are positive with COVID-19 in Japan.

There are more than 70 days to go before the opening of the Tokyo Games and some cities including Okuizumo and Kurihara have backed out as event venues.

Tuloy iyon. Definitely, wala nang atrasan. Mayroon naman sinend na protocol ang Japan,” Tolentino disclosed.

Japan declared a state of emergency from April 25 to May 11. This may be extended if the situation gets worse.
