PRRD to address the nation Thursday night

Ā President Rodrigo Roa Duterte will deliver his second public address this week which will be aired tonight, his spokesperson said.

Ā ā€œMamaya po magkakaroon ng ā€˜Talk to the People’ ang Pangulo. Siya na ang magkukwento kung anong nangyari sa kanilang usapan ni President Putin [The President will later hold his ā€˜Talk to the People.’ He will share the details of his conversation with President Putin],ā€ Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in his regular briefing on Thursday (April 15).

On April 13, President Duterte had a 30-minute phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. They discussed the COVID-19 response, including COVID-19 vaccines, as well as diplomatic relations.

Ā Vaccine Czar Carlito Galvez Jr. revealed earlier this week that the supply agreement for Sputnik V, the vaccine developed by Russia’s Gamaleya Institute, will be signed anytime this week.

Ā At least 20 million doses of the vaccine are expected to be secured through the deal.
