PRRD to address the nation Thursday night

 President Rodrigo Roa Duterte will deliver his second public address this week which will be aired tonight, his spokesperson said.

 “Mamaya po magkakaroon ng ‘Talk to the People’ ang Pangulo. Siya na ang magkukwento kung anong nangyari sa kanilang usapan ni President Putin [The President will later hold his ‘Talk to the People.’ He will share the details of his conversation with President Putin],” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in his regular briefing on Thursday (April 15).

On April 13, President Duterte had a 30-minute phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. They discussed the COVID-19 response, including COVID-19 vaccines, as well as diplomatic relations.

 Vaccine Czar Carlito Galvez Jr. revealed earlier this week that the supply agreement for Sputnik V, the vaccine developed by Russia’s Gamaleya Institute, will be signed anytime this week.

 At least 20 million doses of the vaccine are expected to be secured through the deal.
