Pres. Duterte: ATB under Palace legal team reviewed

President Rodrigo R. Duterte disclosed that the Anti-Terrorism Bill is still being reviewed by his legal team.

According to the President, he is awaiting for the results of their thorough study before he can decide on approving or vetoing a certain bill.

“My legal (team) is still reviewing it. My legal team in Malacañan. There’s only — hindi ko pa natanggap (I haven’t received it yet) I had it reviewed. ‘Pag daan sa akin (when it comes through me), I endorse it to legal. Without even reading it actually, if you want really to know. It’s legal who will return it to me with a recommendation whether I will approve it or not.”

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque has initially stated that there is a chance that the Chief Executive will approve the bill since it is certified as urgent. However, the final decision still lies on President Duterte’s hands. – Report from Mela Lesmoras
