President Duterte leads turnover of classroom from FFCCCII

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on Tuesday, July 25, witnessed the ceremonial turnover of more than 300 units of two-classroom school building from the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII).

In his speech during the ceremony at the Rizal Hall, the President said the Operation Barrio Schools is one of the chamber’s many achievements “that truly redound to the further empowerment of our youth.”

“May you extend its reach even to the most remote areas in the country so that more children will get the education they need and deserve,” he said.

The President then gave his assurance that the government will continue to do its best to create an enabling, nurturing, and globally-competitive business environment for everyone.

He said his administration has started implementing reforms such as streamlining business permit processes, pushing for more efficient tax system, and increasing the budget for infrastructure to improve transportation.

The Chief Executive thanked the chamber for being a staunch partner of government in uplifting the lives of people.

“Since 1974, the Federation has expressed its unwavering support for national projects that benefit our citizens particularly those who are on the margins,” he said.

President Duterte noted that through the chamber’s investment, business, employment, assistance program, thousands of Filipinos have found their way out of poverty and now lead prosperous lives.

He also recognized FFCCCII’s contribution in the promotion of public health, social welfare and quality education.

The President called on the chamber to help his administration in its fight against illegal drugs.

“I trust that the Federation and the rest of the Filipino-Chinese community will remain our steadfast allies in transforming the Philippines into a peaceful and progressive country,” he said.

During the ceremony, the President also administered the oath of FFCCCIII officers. ###PND
