Prime Water wins as New Clark City water supplier

MANILA — The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) on Thursday named a Filipino-Israeli consortium as the winning bidder for New Clark City’s water supply services.

In a statement, BCDA said the consortium of Prime Water Infrastructure Corp. with PAVI, MGS Construction, Inc., and Israel-based TAHAL Group submitted the lowest bid for water and wastewater infrastructure project in New Clark City.

The consortium offered PHP9.45 per cubic meter rate, which is lower than Manila Water Company’s proposed rate of PHP11 per cubic meter.

“The proposed PHP9.45 per cubic meter rate shall apply for the water supply only. The same amount shall be charged for wastewater services equating to a total rate of PHP18.90 per cubic meter for the first five years of the 30-year joint venture period,” the BCDA explained.

BCDA said that the competitive water rate to be provided by Prime Water inside the New Clark City will help attract investors in the well-planned urban development in Central Luzon.

The proposed rate is even lower than the current rate of PHP35.48 per cubic meter for those in the Maynilad service area and PHP25.50 per cubic meter for Manila Water customers.

BCDA targets to sign the contract with the consortium by end of this month.
