PRRD pushes for permanent military presence in Marawi City

Pres. Rodrigo R. Duterte is in favor of having a military camp in Marawi City.

In a meeting with officials of the Human Settlements and Urban Development, the Chief Executive has requested to make the presence of the military in Marawi permanent to avoid another terrorist attack.

It is also important that the activities of the New People’s Army are closely monitored, he added.

The President has enjoined the residents of Marawi City to support the government’s strides in fighting terrorism to avoid another assault similar to that of May 2017.
