QC: Only selected areas of 5 barangays under ‘special concern lockdown’

The local government of Quezon City clarified that only 11 areas from barangays Culiat, Sauyo, Batasan Hills, Tatalon, and Bahay Toro are under special concern lockdown since May 13.

“Ito ay dahil sa mayroon silang naobserbahan na pag-cluster ng mga COVID positive at ang kanilang mga na-contact trace na pina-PCR testing dito ay pending appeal ang mga results (It is because they observed the clustering of COVID positive, and those traced who have under PCR testing still have pending results),” Asst. City Administrator for Operations Alberto Kimpo said.

Quarantine passes have been cancelled and going out has been prohibited for residents of the said areas, while barangay officials have been assigned to buy their needs. Individuals who test positive in the anti-body rapid testing conducted by the city will undergo PCR testing.

There are currently 34 QC barangays with areas placed under extreme enhanced community quarantine (EECQ) that have two or more COVID-19 cases. The local government said residents who need to go out may apply at [email protected]. and attach supporting documents such as a government ID and health clearance. It clarified travel passes are not required for employees with company ID, delivery, newly opened establishments under MECQ, health workers and COVID-19 responders.
