QCPD identifies suspects behind killing of NCMH Director

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) has identified the culprits behind the killing of National Center for Mental Health (NCMH) Director Dr. Roland Cortez.

According to Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU)-QCPD Chief Major Elmer Monsalve, 7 individuals are responsible for the killing of Cortez including the Chief of the NCMH Administrative Support Service, Clarita Avila, who is allegedly the mastermind of the crime.

The 7 suspects are Sonny Sandicho, Maria Christina Mitra Riego Dela Cruz, Edison Riego, George Serrano, Albert Eugenio and Harly Pagarigan who is allegedly the gunman.

Out of the 7 suspects, only Eugenio is in custody of the QCPD. The suspects have been charged with two counts of murder at the QC Prosecutor’s Office.

Meanwhile, the investigation has shown that the motive for the murder is Cortez’s discovery of the anomalies within the NCMH.
