Quezon’s Q1K poster finalist in 2017 World Hospital Congress

LUCENA CITY, Quezon — The Quezon’s First 1000 Days of Life (Q1K) Program of this province has been adjudged finalist in the Poster Presentation Category at the 41st World Hospital Congress of the International Hospital Federation (IHF).

The Q1K’s winning entry falls under the category “Innovations in delivery of healthcare and hospital services,” beating 189 posters presenting various case studies on new technologies, policies, and programs implemented by their respective organizations.

The Quezon provincial information office told PNA on Tuesday that the Provincial Capitol reaped the finalist honors during the 2017 congress held in Taipei, Taiwan on Nov. 7 to 9.

The award was announced during the parallel sessions hosted by IHF member-countries, which also shared their industry experience during the three-day event themed “Patient-Friendly and Smarter Healthcare.”

Around 850 delegates from across the globe took part in the parallel sessions on 10 different topics and interacted with their peers at social events.

Provincial representatives who received the award were Q1K Program Management Officer Dr. Grace V. Santiago and the general secretariat head Ma. Christina T. Lopez.

Quezon is the first province in the country to implement a comprehensive program primarily designed to implement the national and provincial programs on maternal and child care, immunization, nutrition, and sanitation.

The Q1K program is being sustained throughout Quezon to achieve a globally competitive province, when it comes to providing constituents with optimal health care services and interventions during the phases of the first 1000 days of life.

The Quezon provincial representatives shared that the IHF World Hospital Congress is a unique global forum and knowledge hub for hospitals where a multidisciplinary exchange of knowledge, expertise, and experiences in health sector management and service delivery is facilitated.

The forum brought together leaders, gurus, delegates, and participants conversant in healthcare policies and management practices to engage in a constructive dialogue on best practices and innovations in hospital and healthcare management and leadership aimed at improving the overall health and wellness of communities. (Zen Trinidad/PNA)
