Rainy Saturday in Visayas, Mindanao

MANILA — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecasts a rainy Saturday due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), which is expected to bring rains over some parts of Visayas and Mindanao.

In its weather bulletin effective for 24 hours, PAGASA said central and western Visayas, northern Mindanao, including the provinces of Palawan and Zamboanga del Norte, will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ.

The state-run weather bureau also warned of possible flooding or landslides caused by light to moderate with occasional heavy rains in these areas.

Metro Manila and other areas will also have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers brought by local thunderstorms.

Northern Luzon will also have moderate to rough coastal waters due to moderate to strong winds coming from the northeast to east, while Western Visayas and Palawan will have slight to moderate coastal waters caused by light to moderate winds blowing from the east to southeast.

Other areas, meanwhile, will have slight to moderate coastal waters brought by light to moderate winds coming from the northeast to east.

PAGASA also recorded a peak temperature of 35.8°C at 3 p.m., while the lowest was recorded at 25.8°C at 6:20 a.m. on Friday.

For the weekend, the weather bureau further forecasts a minimum temperature of 16°C and a maximum temperature of 36°C. (PNA)
