Scattered rains over Mindanao Sunday

By Ma. Cristina Arayata/PNA

MANILA — Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over Mindanao due to the tail-end of a cold front affecting the island, the weather bureau said Sunday.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), however, said in its latest report there might be flash floods and landslides in Mindanao due to scattered light to moderate with at times heavy rains.

The northeast monsoon affecting Luzon and Visayas, on the other hand, will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Visayas, Cagayan Valley Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Bicol Region, and the provinces of Aurora and Quezon.

It will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

Meanwhile, strong winds will blow over northern Luzon, and the eastern part of the country. Coastal waters along these areas will be rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be moderate to strong with moderate to rough seas, PAGASA said.
