Screening officer at NAIA caught on CCTV trying to swallow $300

A screening officer at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) was caught on CCTV trying to swallow $300.

The screening officer allegedly took $300 from a departing passenger last Sept. 8 at the NAIA Terminal 1.

According to authorities, the incident took place after 8:00 p.m.

The Office of Transportation Security (OTS) said it already identified the personnel and will face administrative actions once allegations have been proven true.

“The OTS has been working closely with the Manila International Airport Authority, and the Philippine National Police Aviation Security to bring those accountable to the folds of the law, and take appropriate administrative actions if the allegations are substantiated,” OTS said in a statement.

“As of writing time, the OTS has identified the personnel concerned, and that gathering of evidences are on-going,” it added.

The personnel is currently under preventive suspension, according to the Manila International Airport Authority. With reports from Rod Lagusad and PNA-ag
